Burlap Garden Flag

I went into Dollar Tree a few months ago for some plastic cups and found these garden flag holders!  It's pretty basic, but for $1 I couldn't pass it up. 

I had picked this paint color out at Lowes from the Spring sample collection.  These are very small samples of paint, but perfect for small craft projects like this one.  I had a coupon which made it free! I was wanting the Pantone color of the year, Radiant Orchid, but it was not available with the coupon. 

I used my Gypsy machine to design and size the words and then cut a stencil out of vinyl on my Cricut. I stuck the vinyl to the burlap and then painted over. I hung it up to dry outside. I then folded over the top of the burlap to create a pocket for the rod, and stitched around the perimeter of the flag to prevent additional fraying.

I found a similar wreath on Pinterest and thought it would be a cute little project and good way to use up some retired paper.  This wreath is mini- it is about 6-7 inches in diameter and I love how it turned out!

Grapevine Heart Wreath

 

The grapevine heart wreath was made by rolling burlap into flowers, accenting with berry garland, ribbon, and ribbon rosettes. 

Grapevine Angel

 

I saw these grapevine angels at the craft store and had to make one for my Grandma, who loves angels.  I bought a berry garland, cut it down, and hot-glued it to her middle to spray out over the wings.  The dress is scrap fabric just turned under on the edges.  I added ribbon and rosette ribbon as a trim.

Halloween Frame Display

Happy Halloween!

My mom gave me this cute little Halloween photo frame.  I didn't really have a good photo for it so I decided to decorate it in another way.

New Flooring

 Where have I been?  BUSY!!!  We had new flooring installed in the main areas of our house in the past month.  We also had to install trim and put up a few new light fixtures.  I am amazed at the difference and it makes it look like an entirely new house.

5x7 Hinged Display Tray

 

I have had this 5x7 Hinged Display Tray for awhile now and was not sure what photos to decorate it with.  I finally decided that it would look great on a bookshelf in my office.  The walls are pained a tan color and I wanted a nice color palette for it.  I attached the photos using the Hook & Loop Dots so that they can easily be changed out in the future.

Inspiration

"A Work of Heart" store in the Grand Central Mall in Parkersburg, WV  

This piece is actually made of fabric and the letters are embroidered.  It really jumped out at me in the store.  I plan on making a little stuffed bee also and displaying both of these on my fireplace with a grapevine and berry wreath.

Dream Pop Canvas Displays

I love the teal word collage paper that is a part of the Dream Pop Paper Packet.  I trimmed around a few of the phrases I liked to create these two displays.  I plan on mounting them on the 6x6 canvas and displaying them in my craft room.  I used a few retired paper packets to pick up colors to match the room.

Burlap Flower Grapevine Wreath

 

I won a basket of grapevine wreaths at a Chinese Auction a few months ago.  I finally got around to making one of them to display in my living room on a wreath stand on the fireplace.  I was inspired and pretty much copied the wreath below that I saw on Pinterest.  The Burlap Ribbon from Close to My Heart worked awesome!  What made it easy is that it already has a finished edge, so you don't have to worry about fraying.  There is also 5 yards per package which is a ton- and more than enough for this project.

Bathroom Remodel- Part 3- Details

 I made the valance to go with the curtains following dimensions from a store-bought valance.  I found this fabric at Walmart on clearance for $1 a yard probably 6 months ago and it's exactly the fabric I had in mind to use for the valance and vanity stool.

 I recovered the stool for my vanity.  It was super easy.  I just unscrewed the cushion and used a staple gun to attach the fabric.
