Burlap Christmas Treat Bags

 

I made the burlap treat bags using a roll of 6" wide burlap.  They are lined with red cotton fabric.  The star/snowflake is crocheted.  Tag made using Close to My Heart Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge, stamps, and inks.

Photo Clothesline
This photo clothesline turned out so great.  I printed out an 8x10 photo of the birthday girl from each month, put a label on it, and then hung it up on a "clothesline".  Everyone enjoyed looking at the photos and how she had changed from month to month.

High Chair Ruffle
The high chair ruffle turned out super cute for photos.  I took a spool of tulle, gathered it, and sewed a pink ribbon to sew down the gathers.  The only thing I struggled with was attaching it to the highchair.  It would not stay put and kept falling down throughout the party!  I used glue dots and packing tape.  I kept the roll of packing tape close by and just kept re-taping it throughout the party.

Look at that super cute birthday girl!  She was so excited by all the attention and kept waving her arms and clapping.

Little Stuffed Owls

I have seen little stuffed owls in several stores this year with the fall decorations.  I thought they were so cute, so I decided to make my own with fabric scraps.  I think they turned out cute and hope that their recipients agree!

Flowers: 
The flowers are from bushes in my mom's yard.  They were absolutely perfect for her party and looked beautiful.  The white with just a hint of pink matched everything.

Fairy Party- Chair Decorations

 

The chair decorations turned out beautiful!  I designed them to slide through a ribbon and then the ribbon could be tied around the chair.  They had a little bit of sparkle and shine from glimmer mist which did not show up in the photos.

Fairy Party- Tents

 

 

 

My sister-in-law found this great idea for the tent decorations on Pinterest.  When we went shopping, they had spools of tulle in every color, and floral garland with colors to match.

The tent decorations were what I was most worried about before the party.  Everyone had this great idea of how they were going to look and I had no idea how I was going to achieve that look. 

The morning of the party, I accessed the tents and it was fairly simple to decorate.  We hung tulle over the bars of the tent, doubling it, and then tying a single knot to keep it in place.  The garland went up easily using cable ties to secure it in the middle and two ends.

The canopy over the food table was another that I was very challenged by.  This was the last item I worried about decorating.  I made a circle out of wire and then tied strips of tulle to it.  The flower attached to the wire form using cable ties.  Then we hung it from the ceiling using a Command Hook, tape, and thumb tacks.  I don't know how it stayed!  The strips of tulle should have been longer, but it still worked out.

Fairy Birthday Party

For the past month I have been in full-on party planning mode. My niece is now a year old and we threw a fairy themed 1st birthday party for her.  My sister-in-law and I searched Pinterest for ideas, went shopping for supplies, and then we went to work!  The day of her party, the weather was absolutely beautiful and everything came together perfectly. 


Below are all my favorite photos of the decorations.  I will be doing a post once a week that will focus on a specific decoration. 

All this hard work was absolutely worth it for this adorable little girl.  I hope she will look back on pictures one day and love it!
