Orange/Teal Quilt

 

I have been working on cleaning up and organizing my craft room.  It has just been a total disaster zone since Christmas.  I also haven't touched my sewing machine in about a month and felt the need to work on some quilting.

I usually always lay out my quilts to make sure of the pattern.  Especially with "scrappy" quilts.  Although they are meant to be just put together, I like to lay it all out and make sure it looks balanced.  I laid out the entire Orange/Teal quilt, finished cutting out a few blocks, and then finished piecing all the blocks together!

 

 

While I had all the blocks laid out on the floor, Peggy kept coming in to say hi.  Of course, she had to walk right across all the blocks, then sit down, then lay down right on them.  It's like she's saying, "Maybe if I sit here and look cute long enough, the quilt can be mine."

 

  

All the blocks DONE!  It feels accomplishing!  (The stack looks so small here- there really are 25 blocks.)  Now onto joining them all into rows...

Flirty Pond Layout

I am making a real effort to catch up with 2012 scrapbooking layouts.  This is a layout with photos from the Close to My Heart Convention 2012 in Dallas, Texas.  I knew the Flirty paper packet would be perfect for these photos by the pond.  The colors just matched perfectly!

Journaling:
The grounds at the Hilton Anatole were beautiful!  There were jogging trails, sculptures, flowers, and a pond with a fountain.  We went outside Saturday morning before Extravaganza and before the temperature heated up to take photos.

Valentine's Day Display

What do you do with your Cricut cut scraps?  I love to use them to make more projects!  This display, or wall hanging was made using the negative cut (what is left on the mat) from the bracket on the Amaryllis layout.  I trimmed up the excess around the edges to make it even and then started working!

I have another idea with the left over negative space from the 3D flowers in the top left corner of the display, so keep your eyes open for that!

Amaryllis Layout

Can you tell that this is the same layout pattern as the stocking Christmas layout that I posted on Saturday?  I love how you can use the same layouts and make them look so different by changing the paper and embellishments!

I tried to follow the La Belle Vie Workshop on the Go layout as they had made it in the Idea Book.  I used the Jardin stamp set which has greatly grown on me the more I use it.

Sit Long, Talk Much, Laugh Often

 I saw this sign in a country home decor store in the mall and fell in love.  I knew it would be perfect for our basement living room, right above the couch.  The price was a little steep and I thought, "I can make this!"  I took a picture and then about a month later on a nice day, got busy.  Jerrad had left over boards from finishing the ceiling in the detached garage and let me use one.  I cut the words using vinyl on the Cricut and stuck them down nice and sealed on the board.  I spray-painted the board using a black metallic, let it dry, and then peeled the vinyl letters off.  I am so excited it turned out exactly like I had imagined!

Orange/Teal Quilt

I tried really hard to get this quilt done for a Christmas gift for a special person, but just couldn't get it done in time.  I finished the top of the quilt and it just needs sandwiched, quilted, and bound. 

This quilt is made with scraps from a larger quilt (in progress) using the same colors, a small charm pack, and white sashing strips.
